“De Pier” is kind of the Netherlands equivalent to the Santa Monica Pier in Venice Beach, California. Not that I have seen it in person (only on YouTube), but that’s what I would imagine. It features a lot of things you can have fun with and spend money on, a Ferris wheel, a slag line, lots of little stores inside and even a freakin casino on its top. By the way, a tip for the photographers among us, it definitely pays off to visit the beach in the early morning hours to catch those beautiful shots with an empty beach, as it fills up rather quickly.
If you want to relax a bit, there are many many small restaurants along the beach promenade and inside the pier. They all have different esthetics and are very pleasing to look at and of course, to photograph! Often times, there is even live music being played while you eat inside and if you fancy playing yourself, there is a piano at the end of the pier which can be played.
